This month TEDx DUCTAC turns its attention to the nature and needs of the modern community. Speakers will illustrate how social gaps and deficiencies are approached from both the grassroots and government level. The two core philosophies which underlie the development of all social programs will also be a central theme. Amir-Esmaeil Bozorgzadeh, Co-Founder of Time Dirham, will explore the role of systems of economy in shaping a community’s inherent strengths and weaknesses. Dr. Eman Gaad, Director of Disability Services at the Community Development Authority, will discuss the importance of developing programs which empower and activate the socially isolated and marginalized. Two acclaimed TED talks will also be presented along with Q&A sessions moderated by Catalin Cighi, organizer of TEDx DUCTAC.

About TEDxDuctac TEDxDUCTAC was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals in Dubai the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. TEDxDUCTAC will occur take place monthly at the KILACHAND STUDIO in the Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre.

While the content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, all TEDx events have several features in common:

*TED's celebrated format: A suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances on a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder -- and to provoke conversations that matter

*TEDTalks videos: A minimum of two pre-recorded talks from the acclaimed TEDTalks video series will be shown

*Bias-free programming: Lack of any commercial, religious or political agenda
